South Portland Land Trust members and members of the public are invited to attend the organization’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 18, from 7:30-9:30am.
The Annual Meeting is a great opportunity for attendees to learn more about the land trust’s goals and activities, honor volunteers that have made significant contributions throughout the year, and help elect officers and new members of the board of directors. This year’s meeting will feature a presentation on the history of SPLT, a review of major accomplishments of 2019, and an interactive discussion about the organization’s goals and focus in 2020.
The land trust will also announce a new volunteer recognition program, including the inauguration of the Tom Blake Leadership Award, which will be given to honor outstanding leadership, mentoring, and creativity in support of the SPLT mission. The award celebrates individuals whose leadership has enriched the entire community and whose contributions embody the values Tom Blake, a founder of the South Portland Land Trust, has demonstrated in his own life and work on behalf of the SPLT.
This year’s meeting will be held at the McKernan Center, on the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) campus. Breakfast will be served. The event is free and open to all, but seating is limited.
