Due to Saturday’s forecasted rainstorm and this being an outdoor event, we have rescheduled to SATURDAY, JANUARY 27th. Those who have registered will receive an email.
SPLT is excited to host a nature walk and story in Hinckley Park on Saturday, January 27th, from 9:30-10:45 am. This event will be focused on introducing concepts of nature in winter for children. We’ll start by reading a story aloud and will then take a walk through the woods, looking for evidence of winter adaptations of plants and animals.
This event will be led by Karen Talentino, SPLT Treasurer. Karen is a retired college professor who taught courses in biology, environmental science and marine biology, and carried out research focusing on adaptations to extreme temperatures. She believes strongly that the best way to learn about the environment (or anything for that matter) is to be immersed in it and to study it first-hand.
This event is free to the community, but please register in the form below so we know how many to expect (and so we can contact you in case of postponement!).
A donation to SPLT is encouraged. Learn more about donating here.
