TRAIL HEADS
Mount Vernon Street Trail HAS two PRIMARY ACCESS POINts:
Mount Vernon Street: Park on Mt Vernon St (off Ocean House Street just south of Highland Ave) and walk to the end to find the trail head.
Fessenden Avenue: Park on the street near the corner of Fessenden Ave and Lawrence Lano St. Find the trail head off Fessenden where Lawrence Lano intersects.
About the Trail
The Mt Vernon Street trail is a useful neighborhood connection in a residential area. Wooden steps on either end of the trail bring the user down into a small ravine through which the Trout Brook runs. The trail connects over the Trout Brook on a simple wooden bridge.
Completed in 1999, this is the first trail project of the South Portland Land Trust.
